Mr. Yavuz is a Silicon Valley entrepreneur and founder of SiVa CleanTech L.L.C. in the United States. Currently, Mr. Yavuz serves as Vice President for Nanostellar, a company focused on using a unique nanotechnology methodology to develop precious-metals containing materials for the automotive and stationary power industries, enabling these industries to meet stringent diesel emissions-control requirements mandated in Europe, the U.S. and Asia. Mr. Yavuz has twenty years of experience in technology development and commercialization in the USA, primarily at Engelhard Corporation, now owned by BASF. The product lines that he built and managed for Engelhard now have a combined annual revenue reaching $250 million. Mr Yavuz is an inventor of catalytic converter technology used in diesel cars in Europe. He was nominated for the David McFarland award by the American Society of Metals and PSU in 2007 recognizing him for his contributions to the advancement of materials science and engineering; Mr. Yavuz is a Fulbright scholar with 9 US patents, he has a Ph.D. in materials science from The Pennsylvania State University; M.Sc. University of Florida and B.Sc. from Middle East Technical University in Turkey.
