Mr. Cummins has been a political consultant to Presidents, Senators, and Governors; his political career began in 1960 as a campaign advisor to President John F. Kennedy and continued as a member of Robert Kennedy’s inner circle in his presidential bid in 1968. In 1974, he served as Hugh Carey’s campaign manager in Mr. Carey’s successful bid to become Governor of the State of New York. Mr. Cummins was appointed Commissioner of the New York State Thruway Authority in the Carey Administration. In addition, Mr. Cummins has worked on Wall Street as a consultant at James J Lowery, Inc, a financial advisor specializing in financing projects for municipal and state entities. Mr. Cummins has served on the Board of Directors for several companies including; Municipal Development Corporation, a company focusing on the privatization of certain public functions and entities such as toll roads, bridges and other transportation projects, New World Power Corporation, an alternative energy company, specializing in wind power generation, Daytop Foundation and Daytop International, an internationally recognized drug rehabilitation facilities with chapters in over 20 countries throughout the world. Currently, Mr. Cummins serves on the Board of Directors for Advanced Power Systems, a company focused on providing a product to the market that will positively impact the environment and simultaneously have a favorable economic impact for the end user.
